KNN Steering Committee

The Steering Committee will be composed of KNN staff and up to five additional members. Members other than KNN staff will serve terms of two years, with the year beginning October 1. Membership will rotate, with two/three members going off each year. Members of the Steering Committee will be elected by the Steering Committee to represent the broad constituency of KNN.

The Chair of KNN will be chosen by the Steering Committee. The Chair will have served at least one year as a member of the Steering Committee before becoming the Chair.

As KNN grows, it is anticipated that the structure of KNN may change to include Task Forces or Action Teams. The Steering Committee may change to include a representative from each of the Task Forces or Action Teams.

The Steering Committee will be responsible to:
1) Provide guidance to KNN staff on the criteria for the selection of Network projects;
2) Be actively involved in development of the Network proposal;
3) Actively pursue sources of funding for the operation of the Network and for specific Network projects;
4) Invite other agencies/organizations to partner on projects and/or become part of Coalition that supports the mission of KNN;
5) Recommend policies to the Coalition;

Meeting dates: Steering Committee members will meet on months that alternate with Coalition meetings. The meetings may be face-to-face or conference calls, as determined by the Steering Committee members.
