Karen Fitzgerald, MS, RD, LD, has been the Coordinator of KNN since 1999. She was previously a KNN Partner, and attended the first KNN meeting in Topeka as t he Director of the Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, a statewide program to promote the expansion of federally funded children’s nutrition programs. Karen has more than 20 years experience in programs providing support to families throughout Kansas, including Kansas LEAN, Wichita and Cowley County Head Start, and CACFP.
Barbara J. Roths, RD/LD, joined KNN as the Assistant Coordinator in 1999. Barb has worked in a variety of community-based nutrition, health, and activity programs in her twenty-six years as a registered dietitian. These programs include the nutrition for the elderly (congregate and home-delivered meals); the Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC); and Kansas LEAN. Barb has recently been involved in the development of two curricula: Nutrition: Good for You! and The ABC’s of Toddler Nutrition Time. These curricula focus on nutrition and physical movement for toddlers and preschoolers and can be used in training those who care for young children. She enjoys offering presentations to groups who are interested in healthy food, fitness and fun!
Sally Price joined KNN as the Administrative Assistant. She came to KNN after 27 years with the City of Wichita as the Project Director for Library Automation. She works on projects with Barb and Karen in any capacity that they need, does budgetary work and travel and event planning. She works part time and attends Hutchinson Community College fulltime.
