Everyone benefits when all communities offer places where residents can buy affordable, healthy food. State and local governments have a vital role to play in making this happen. The new PolicyLink report, Healthy Food, Healthy Communities, discusses how to improve community health by making healthy food readily available for purchase in all communities. IFIC, the International Food Information Council, provides great research-based information on food safety, nutrition and more. They have a Spanish-language website that provides a wealth of free information on everything from child and adolescent nutrition, to obesity and weight management, to food allergies and asthma, and "everything in between."
